Dakota State University is seeking applications a full-time Facilities Services Supervisor I. This position will work an 8 hour shift Monday through Friday with some weekends as needed to help with preparation/clean-up for events on campus. The shift will begin at 4:00am.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Supervise a team of facility workers.
  • Select personnel.
  • Schedule and assign work of subordinates.
  • Conduct performance appraisals.
  • Order and maintain inventory.
  • Maintain high quality and safety standards.
  • Perform minor maintenance projects.
  • Maintain the outside parameters of the buildings.
  • General cleaning and sanitizing tasks.
  • Monitor the buildings for property safety.
  • Supervise preparation for special events in buildings and clean up for those events.
  • Paint, move furniture and check equipment as necessary.

The successful applicant must be able to or have knowledge of:
  • Follow written and oral instructions
  • Work with students, staff, and the public courteously.
  • Work independently.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of building cleaning and sanitation techniques.
  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment and supplies.
  • Knowledge of use of various hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
